On December 11, the Mission participated in the inaugural meeting of the Community Council of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol—a cross-agency working group dedicated to implementing the Concept of Prosecutor-Community Interaction (“Community Prosecutor”).
The discussion included representatives from the prosecutor’s office, law enforcement agencies, and experts from the ZMINA Human Rights Center, the Regional Center for Human Rights, the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, the Almenda Civic Education Center, Crimea SOS, the Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group, and the Media Initiative for Human Rights.

Participants discussed the concept of the “Community Prosecutor” project, presented by the First Deputy Head of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Prosecutor’s Office, Vitalii Sekretar. The program aims to serve as a platform for collaboration among prosecutors, civil society organizations, and government representatives to protect citizens’ rights, uphold the rule of law, and address international crimes.
Special attention was given to ensuring effective responses to human rights violations and international crimes occurring in the temporarily occupied territories.
