
On May 23, 2023, the Mission hosted a closed event with the participation of the diplomatic representatives of the countries of Africa and the Middle East. The event was attended by the Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva, Deputy Permanent Representative Denys Chystikov and Head of the Crimean Platform Support Service Maria Tomak.
The main purpose of the meeting was to actualize the topic of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, to provide objective information about the situation on the peninsula in the context of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
During the event, the Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva also spoke about the activities of the Mission and its role in shaping the state policy on the reintegration of the Crimean peninsula. In this context, the participants of the event were presented with the main strategies that the Mission is working on.
Tamila Tasheva also touched upon the topic of false narratives about Crimea, which the Russian Federation is actively spreading at the international level, and voiced their refutation.
This was the second such event hosted by the Mission with the participation of diplomats from the Global South.
