Yesterday, on June 12, the Permanent Representative of the President in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva, and the Head of the Crimea Platform Support Service Maria Tomak met with the delegation of advisers to the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima and the Embassy of Latvia in Ukraine, namely: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Ilgvārs Klava, Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Speaker of the Saeima Juris Pekalis, Strategic Management Advisor to the Speaker of the Saeima Edgars Pudzis and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Latvia in Ukraine Madara Siliņa.

The discussion was devoted to the preparation of the Crimea Platform’s Parliamentary Summit to be held in Riga in October 2024. Ms. Tasheva told the guests about the work of the Crimea Platform Office and focused on the need to involve representatives of non-governmental organizations and those directly affected by the Russian aggression in the Summit program.
The meeting was focused on the importance of studying and taking into account the Latvian experience of cognitive de-occupation and overcoming the consequences of Russian colonization in the framework of the future reintegration of Crimea.
The Latvian delegation also raised the issue of cultural and security arrangements for the organization of the Parliamentary Summit. The parties agreed to continue cooperation to effectively prepare a useful program for October
