The work of the internal track of the Crimea platform also envisages the functioning of the office as a “Crimean hub” in Kyiv to combine the efforts of various displaced Crimean authorities and members of the Expert Network, as well as holding joint meetings for citizens, holding events on the topic of deoccupation and reintegration of Crimea with the participation of national and international experts.
It is symbolic that the first of this kind event was attended by the Head of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and his First Deputy, as well as representatives of foreign delegations, public organizations who are working on the Crimean issue, and citizens of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea. We are grateful to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for such a powerful initiative in the issues of deoccupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and entrusting this important matter to the Mission. Thanks to all who participated in the Summit of the Crimea Platform and its permanent office, all who were able to attend.
As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his speech at the opening of the inaugural Summit of the Crimea Platform – “We are not holding a summit for the sake of the summit. The topic of Crimea should not disappear from the international agenda for another seven years. That is why we need to focus today on practical work and coordination of efforts on very specific issues”.
Work on the inner track of the Crimea Platform is just the beginning. We understand all the trust and responsibility given by the President of Ukraine to the Mission.
We will do everything possible to justify the trust of the Head of State and the expectations of the citizens of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
