On 12 February 2026, as part of events marking the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea, a presentation of the manga “A Butterfly’s Wingbeat” will take place in Kyiv. The manga is dedicated to Ukrainian citizens living under temporary occupation who continue to resist the criminal actions of the occupying authorities.

The narrative is based on the story of resistance of Bohdan Ziza, a Crimean artist and civic activist who was unlawfully sentenced by the occupation authorities to 15 years of imprisonment for his pro-Ukrainian stance.

The project aims to draw attention to the issue of the liberation of the Crimean Peninsula, the human rights situation, and the plight of Crimean political prisoners held in Russian captivity, through Bohdan Ziza’s personal story.

The event will include a panel discussion and a manga creation workshop.
