The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the liberation of a number of settlements by the Armed Forces of Ukraine forced the government and society to actively discuss and work on the vision of reintegration of the Crimean peninsula occupied since 2014.

Thus, during the previous year, the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, with the involvement of 36 experts, developed the Strategy of the State’s First Steps after the Liberation of the Crimean Peninsula (the general approaches of the strategy can be found on the Mission’s website), as well as the Strategy for Economic Recovery of Crimea (jointly with the (then) Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Kyiv School of Economics, and the Center for Defense Strategies).

The visit of the Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva to Odesa provides an opportunity to discuss the regional aspect of the state’s approach to the strategy of reintegration of Crimea.

What is important in the context of Crimea’s reintegration from the point of view of Odesa and Odesa region – as a southern region and as part of the Black Sea region? What should be taken into account, what are the opportunities and risks?

During the event, Tamila Tasheva will present the approaches developed, and the expert community will join in to discuss regional peculiarities, opportunities and risks.
