The Coalition aims to unite initiatives focused on researching Ukrainian culture, history, language, and literature, and to create a platform for the development of Ukrainian studies on an international level. This includes organizing academic programs, cultural events, research projects, exchange programs, and online platforms for collaboration.
The Project Office, whose launch was supported by the International Renaissance Foundation, will coordinate cooperation between Ukrainian studies centers in Ukraine and abroad and seek funding for their development.

The Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies is created with the support of First Lady Olena Zelenska as a joint initiative of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the support of Education, Science, and Sports, the Ukrainian Institute, the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Crimea Platform, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
