In 2021, The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine are preparing courses with scholarships to prepare students from the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) to enter Ukrainian higher education institutions. This is a pilot project of a large program “Reintegration of youth from TOT”.
“A list of 25 higher education institutions will be formed, on the basis of which courses will be held. It is planned that children who will enter Ukrainian universities through educational centers “Donbass-Ukraine” and “Crimea-Ukraine” will have the opportunity to be enrolled in preparatory courses, which are among the measures of academic and psychological integration into the Ukrainian educational and social space, will provide scholarships and free accommodation in dormitories” -, Inna Draganchuk, Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, commented in an exclusive blitz interview for Interfax-Ukraine.
Courses are planned to start in late June-early July, and will last until the beginning of the educational process at universities, approximately 2-2.5 months.
It is planned that upon completion of the courses, students from the temporarily occupied territories will be able to enroll in a simplified system to any of the 195 institutions of higher and professional higher education in Ukraine, where there are simplified conditions of admission.
