The U.S. Department of State and the Department of the Treasury reported that these individuals meet the criteria of U.S. Presidential Decree 14024, which imposes sanctions for harmful foreign activities of the Russian government.
For undermining political stability, peace and security in the interests of the Russian state, sanctions were imposed on the Unarmy movement and the so-called Crimean Patriot Center educational institution.
“Yunarmiya uses the military symbol “Z”, which is used by Russian propaganda to promote the invasion of Ukraine. This organization, created by Russian Defense Minister Shoigu, is actively used by the aggressor in Crimea to militarize children and youth.
The Crimean Center “Patriot”, in turn, is actively promoting the so-called “military-patriotic education” among the youth of the temporarily occupied Crimea to prepare them for service in the Russian armed forces.
Restrictions have also been imposed on organizations and individuals involved in the Kremlin’s military actions. Among them: the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government and “curator” of the temporarily occupied Crimea Marat Khusnullin, Sergei Shoigu’s Patriot PMC, and China HEAD Aerospace Technology Company, which provided satellite images of the area in Ukraine to organizations associated with the Wagner PMC and Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The sanctions also targeted a number of individuals and companies associated with oligarch Alisher Usmanov (including one of Russia’s three largest mobile operators, Megafon), a member of the board of directors of Norilsk Nickel, Alexei Bashkirov, and the Russian state-owned company Rosatom.
The Mission systematically communicates with Ukraine’s international partners on the need to maintain and strengthen political and diplomatic pressure on the aggressor country in order to restore the territorial integrity of our country. We are grateful to everyone who joins Ukraine’s fight against the occupier!
