Residents of temporarily occupied Crimea continue to resist the Russian occupiers, demonstrating their faith in Ukraine and the inevitable de-occupation of the peninsula.
In our regular column # resistance_movement, we continue to inform you about public attitudes among Crimean residents and the people destroying Russian propaganda narratives.
- A resident of Sevastopol criticized Russians on social media. The occupiers detained the man, and an illegal “court” sentenced him to a year in prison.
- Activists of the ATESH resistance movement continue to monitor the occupiers’ military facilities, in particular, a mobile radar system and a Buk-M3 system were discovered in Sevastopol, and the information was reported to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The activists also conducted surveillance of the coast and bays of Sevastopol, during which it was found that most of the Russian Black Sea Fleet ships had left the occupied Crimea ports and only occasionally appeared in local waters.
- Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement continue to resist the occupiers in Crimea, destroying copies of propaganda materials and distributing patriotic symbols in occupied cities of the peninsula, particularly in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yevpatoriia, and Hurzuf.
- Activists of the Crimean Combat Seagulls continue to expose the personal data of collaborators and Russian war criminals in occupied Crimea.
- The Zla Mavka resistance movement continues to keep its diaries and distribute them weekly, which reveals the crimes of the occupiers, and patriotic symbols.
New illegal administrative proceedings in the occupation courts of Crimea under the article on the so-called “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” also testify to the growing resistance. As of September 5, 2024, there were 966 cases of materials drawn up under Art. 20.3.3 of the Russian Federation Administrative Code, recorded in the so-called “courts” in temporarily occupied Crimea and other competent authorities.
In 862 of these cases, a decision was made to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine or to join the case to another case under another article and make a cumulative decision. In 16 cases, the “judges” still consider the decision.
Based on gender, Russians issued 367 (43%) decisions against women and 494 (57%) against men in Crimea. In total, the aggregate amount of fines imposed has already amounted to at least 26.4 million Russian rubles.
We thank everyone for their courage and clear public stance. Crimea is Ukraine, and we are fighting together to return the Crimean Peninsula to Ukrainian control as soon as possible and to bring a sense of security to our citizens from the temporarily occupied territories.
Glory to Ukraine!
