Every day, our compatriots in temporarily occupied Crimea continue to tirelessly resist the Russian occupiers, demonstrating support for Ukraine and trust in the inevitable de-occupation of the peninsula.
In our regular column # resistance_movement, we continue to inform you about the civil stance of Crimean residents and about the people who destroy Russian propaganda narratives.
- A resident of Feodosiia spoke out on social media against the occupation and the actions of the Russian military and special forces. The occupiers detained the man, and the case file was sent to an illegal “court.”
- In the village of Popivka, the Yevpatoriia region, vacationers listened to Ukrainian songs, including those of the band Okean Elzy, and songs allegedly insulting the Russian “president.” The occupiers detained three men, arrested them for ten days, and coerced them to make a video apology.
- A resident of Crimea published posts on social media where he expressed waiting for de-occupation and condemned the actions of the Russian army. The occupiers detained the man, forced him to apologize on video, and sent the case file to an unlawful “court.”
- A resident of Sevastopol published posts in a messenger criticizing the occupiers. The occupiers detained the man and sent the “case” to an unlawful “court”; the man faces up to five years in prison.
- Activists of the ATESH resistance movement reconnoitered the occupiers’ military depots in the village of Perevalne, new fortifications in Yevpatoriia, and the movement of the Russian military. Notably, they recorded the arrival of the brigade of the 810th Marine Brigade in Sevastopol.
- Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement continue to resist the occupiers in Crimea, destroying copies of propaganda materials and distributing patriotic symbols in the occupied cities of the peninsula, as well as informing about the realities of life in the occupied territories.
- Activists of the Crimean Combat Seagulls continue to expose the personal data of collaborators and Russian war criminals in occupied Crimea.
- The Zla Mavka resistance movement continues to keep its diaries and distribute a weekly newspaper that reveals the crimes of the occupiers.
🤬New illegal administrative proceedings in the occupation courts of Crimea under the article on the so-called “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” also testify to the growing resistance. As of August 15, 2024, there were 943 cases of materials drawn up under Art. 20.3.3 of the Russian Federation Administrative Code recorded in the so-called “courts” in the temporarily occupied Crimea and other competent authorities. In 836 of these cases, a decision was made to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine or to join the case to another case under another article and make a cumulative decision. In 20 cases, the “judges” still consider the decision.
Based on gender, Russians issued 354 (42%) decisions against women and 481 (58%) against men in Crimea. In total, the aggregate amount of fines imposed has already amounted to at least 26,4 million Russian rubles.
We thank everyone for their courage and clear public stance. Crimea is Ukraine, and we are fighting together to return the Crimean Peninsula to Ukrainian control as soon as possible and to bring a sense of security to our citizens from the temporarily occupied territories.
Glory to Ukraine!
