The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea continues monitoring the situation on the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula and implementing sanctions as a tool for protecting national interests and countering violations of international law.
One of the key areas of our work is sanctions policy, aimed at countering those who violate the rights of Ukrainian citizens and facilitate the illegal actions of the occupiers. Thus, on June 12, 2026, the President of Ukraine imposed sanctions against Russian propaganda media and judges who issued illegal rulings against Ukrainian citizens.
Behind each of these steps lies the painstaking work of many government agencies and institutions, and we express our gratitude to everyone who contributes to this important cause.
In total, the sanctions package includes 29 individuals and 17 entities. Among them are judges involved in the criminal prosecution of Ukrainians in Russia and on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula, including in absentia conviction of Ukrainian activists, journalists, and politicians.
The list includes three individuals regarding whom the Mission submitted relevant proposals, specifically those who work for the occupation judicial system in Crimea and adopted unlawful decisions concerning Ukrainian citizens. They are:
- Kazatskyi Volodymyr Volodymyrovych, the so-called judge of the Balaklava District Court of the city of Sevastopol;
- Kononova Yulia Serhiivna, so-called judge of the Yalta City Court of the Republic of Crimea;
- Makoid Yulia Ihorivna, so-called judge of the Nakhimov District Court of the city of Sevastopol.
After 2014, these individuals have joined the illegally established occupation judicial bodies and have been involved in issuing politically motivated “court rulings” against Ukrainian citizens on the peninsula.
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea calls on international partners to support Ukrainian initiatives in the area of sanctions policy and to impose similar restrictions on individuals involved in the unlawful activities of the occupation administrations.
Restoring justice for Ukraine and our citizens is our priority, and we continue to work actively toward this goal.
