On 16 November 2018 the Chief Consultant of the Department of Legal Analysis of the Mission Ruslan Seidametov participated as a speaker at the training “Media and Problems of Persons, Forced to Leave their Houses Due to the Conflicts and War” held by the UNHCR and non-governmental organization Projects Without Boundaries.
Pablo Mateu, the UNHCR Representative in Ukraine, Noel Calhoun, the Deputy Representative, UNHCR in Ukraine, Huge Mingarelli, the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Human Rights defenders, journalists and bloggers participated in the training. During the training a great range of legal and social issues were reviewed including provision of social housing, monetary assistant and grans as well as the implementation of UNHCR projects to empower IDPs from different regions of Ukraine. Due regard was given to the challenges of the people without citizenship to find possible solutions to them.
Seidametov Ruslan emphasized the current activity of the Mission aimed at the establishment of the administrative service centers in the regions, adjacent to the temporarily occupied Crimea, provision of Crimean residents with the temporarily housing, provision of IDPs with the administrative, transport, medical and educational services in mainland Ukraine. The official pointed out the normative work done by the Mission, particularly the draft law to simplify the court procedures on registration of deaths in the occupied Crimea. He drew attention to the efforts applied by the Mission to exercise the rights of IDPs from Crimea to participate in the elections.
