Today, 22 July, the Permanent Representative held a working meeting with Members of Parliament of Ukraine and representatives of state institutions responsible for information policy, reintegration, and support for media outlets relocated from the temporarily occupied territories. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Permanent Representative Denys Chystikov, Deputy Head of the Department for De-occupation and Reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Liudmyla Shevchuk, as well as representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
During the meeting, Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko expressed sincere gratitude for the attention given to issues concerning media outlets relocated from the occupied territories, particularly from the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula. She also outlined the key areas of the Mission’s work in this context.

In her remarks, she focused on the key challenges faced by Crimean media outlets following forced relocation: preserving editorial teams, securing funding, maintaining technical infrastructure, and ensuring the safety of journalists, as well as supporting the professional development of media personnel. She also underscored the importance of communication strategies aimed at maintaining connections with citizens who remain in the temporarily occupied territories and at strengthening national identity through the dissemination of accurate and trustworthy information.
Participants also discussed the pressing issues and urgent needs faced by relocated media outlets that continue to cover topics related to the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, the discussion addressed challenges in the areas of security, financial stability, access to resources, and the need for sustained institutional support. At the conclusion of the meeting, all sides unanimously emphasized the importance of interagency coordination to develop a stable and long-term support model for displaced media. They highlighted the need to ensure continuity of information work, strengthen communication with residents of the temporarily occupied territories, and contribute to reinforcing Ukraine’s information sovereignty.
