On June 13, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, together with the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence and the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, held a closed hearing. The hearings focused on maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Azov-Black Sea basin.
In her speech, Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva emphasized that Ukraine’s maritime strategy should take into account the need to overcome the consequences of the Russian occupation of the Crimean peninsula.
Members of the Ukrainian Parliament and representatives of relevant government agencies also took the floor at the hearing. Recommendations based on the results of the event will be submitted to the Government and relevant ministries for implementation in the near future.
