New articles about the Mission and Crimea Platform have been published on the eve of the marathon dedicated to enriching the Crimean Tatar Wikipedia.
On January 12, a two-week marathon for enriching the online encyclopedia begins in honor of the 17th anniversary of establishing Wikipedia’s Crimean Tatar language section. The marathon will run from January 12 to January 27. Its goal is to fill gaps in the coverage of essential topics, promote the development of the Crimean Tatar language, and create more high-quality content that will serve as a source of knowledge for future generations.
The development of the Crimean Tatar language, the language of the Indigenous people of Ukraine, is of great importance for preserving the cultural identity of the Crimean Tatars and restoring their rights, which Russia has systematically violated during the temporary occupation of Crimea. Wikipedia serves as one of the tools in this struggle. Studying and popularizing this language strengthens intergenerational ties and transmits national heritage.
Conditions for participation and a list of article topics can be found on the marathon page: http://crh.wikimedia.org.ua .
Join us to help preserve and spread the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Crimean Tatars!
