Ukraine has declared March 14th the Ukrainian Volunteer Day as a sign of deep honour of courage and heroism of one of the first defenders of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state of Ukrainian.

Exactly on March 14th, 2014 over five hundred participants of the Revolution of Dignity, having realized a high risk of further invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, came to the training range of Novi Petrivtsi, Kyiv region, for military training and formed the first volunteer battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Honouring the glorious heroes of volunteer units, their contribution to strengthening the spirit of patriotism is another page in the modern history of Ukraine in the fight of the Ukrainian society for a decent future and is a memory of the beginning of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in general.
