Main news of the week:
▶ On March 17, the General Staff of the AFU reported a strike on the concentration area of a missile division of the 15th separate coastal missile brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. On March 19, the military struck the Russian “Granit” Innovation Center, which is part of the “Almaz-Antey” concern. This facility was used to service and repair the occupiers’ anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations.
▶ A Warsaw court has agreed to extradite Russian archaeologist Oleksandr Butiahin. The Ukrainian side suspects him of conducting illegal archaeological excavations in temporarily occupied Crimea.
▶ Activists of the Yellow Ribbon movement reported that schoolchildren in Sevastopol are being forced to play the Russian game “Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes.” In the game, the child controls an airborne assault during the storming of Hostomel. In this way, the occupiers are raising a generation for whom the war against Ukraine will seem like a normal game.
▶ The occupiers have demolished the rotunda on the embankment in Alushta. Initially, they promised to restore the cultural site, but later simply tore it down.
Invaders’ crimes:
▶ As of March 11, 2026, 286 individuals are subject to judicial persecution in occupied Crimea, 159 of whom are Crimean Tatars.
▶ As of March 23, 2026, 1,715 cases have been documented for the filing of reports under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation concerning the so-called discrediting of the armed forces of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. In 1,577 cases, decisions were made to impose fines or to consolidate cases with cumulative rulings. In 24 cases, proceedings are still ongoing. 53% of the rulings (837) involve women, while 47% (738) involve men.
▶ The wife of Tofik Abdulhaziiev reported a further deterioration in the political prisoner’s health due to inadequate detention conditions. He was previously diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, tuberculosis, and other serious illnesses. The political prisoner’s blood sugar has also risen; he speaks with shortness of breath, and he cannot stand for long periods. He was detained in 2019 after a second search on suspicion of involvement in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” organization. In 2022, the occupiers sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment.
▶ Elvira Ablyazova, a Crimean Tatar woman who was abducted 2 years ago and accused of alleged “high treason,” has been transferred to Pre-trial Detention Center No. 1 in Simferopol. Human rights defenders emphasize that the abduction and holding of people in complete isolation are war crimes.
▶ The health of Crimean political prisoner Anatolii Kobzar has deteriorated. Due to his detention in Pre-trial Detention Center No. 2 in Simferopol and the lack of necessary medical care, he has developed heart and vascular problems, an unknown leg disease, and hair loss. Despite his condition, doctors limited their response to a simple examination and ignored the political prisoner’s current state.
Forcible conscription:
▶ At least 2,949 military personnel from RF units stationed in Crimea have been killed. 1,546 of them are likely Ukrainian citizens.
▶ The capture of at least 125 Russian military personnel from Crimea has been confirmed. The majority are likely Ukrainian citizens.
Propaganda of the occupying administrations and incitement to hostility:
▶ In Simferopol schools, events were held to mark the so-called Day of Crimea’s Reunification with Russia. At school No. 44, a lecture on the “reunification” was held for high school students, while at school No. 42, a “festive” assembly was held for younger classes, where children recited poems about the so-called Crimean Spring.
📌The Mission continues to receive inquiries from Ukrainian citizens who want to leave Crimea because they cannot tolerate the occupation and total propaganda. We remind you of our instructions on how to leave temporarily occupied Crimea: https://cutt.ly/FwtiajlS
