Employees of the Kherson Art Museum have identified three more paintings taken by Russians. The works were identified thanks to a list of stolen art captured in a photo taken on April 1, 2023, in Simferopol while signing a fake “agreement” on storing stolen art in occupied Crimea.
Kherson museum workers have identified the works that are illegally kept in the Central Museum of Tavryda:
- Vasyl Kasiian (1896-1976). Portrait of Soshenko. 1960. Paper, etching.
- Ivan Hopkalo (1894-1984). Park. 1968. Paper, pencil, charcoal.
- Viktor Trubchaninov (born in 1949). Still life. 1990. Paper, pencil
A total of 125 identified works of art are currently known to have been taken by the occupiers from the Kherson Art Museum during their escape from the city. The total number of artworks that have been illegally taken exceeds 10 thousand.
