Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva participated online in the meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, which took place on August 20, 2024, and was chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The event was traditionally attended by representatives of the Ukrainian Government and foreign partners, including representatives of diplomatic missions and embassies.
The meeting addressed critical topical issues of territorial community development, including the state of implementation of alternative energy projects, ensuring the sustainable operation of housing and communal services, and implementing a barrier-free policy in territorial communities.
The participants also discussed the issues of filling the revenue side of local budgets, the status, and further possibilities of introducing new tools for managing European integration processes at the regional level. During the meeting, special attention was paid to preparations for the 2024-2025 heating season and ensuring educational institutions’ readiness for the new school year.
“We need to take advantage of all the benefits offered by the European integration process. And this includes efforts at the level of political leadership, state institutions and also at the level of each community because everyone in Ukraine needs proper interaction with the European Union,” the Head of State emphasized.
