Deputy Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko met with the Acting Mayor of Poltava, Kateryna Yamshchykova. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Poltava Veterans’ Center, Artem Lifridov.


During the meeting, the parties discussed the potential for joint projects aimed at raising awareness among Poltava residents about the history and culture of the Crimean Peninsula, particularly focusing on Ukraine’s Indigenous peoples. This includes the organization of a series of cultural and educational events, such as exhibitions, discussions, and film screenings, to showcase the multifaceted heritage of the Crimean Peninsula and its inseparable connection to Ukrainian history.
The Deputy Permanent Representative also emphasized the importance of education and building a personnel reserve as key components for the swift restoration of public authorities in the de-occupied territories. In this context, they discussed the possibility of implementing educational programs in collaboration with Poltava educational institutions.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to expand and deepen cooperation to achieve shared goals focused on the cultural development of the region, supporting and integrating internally displaced persons, and implementing new initiatives to ensure sustainable development and community cohesion.
