On October 26, the occupation court of Sovetskoye village unlawfully sentenced Aziz Faizullayev, a citizen of Ukraine, a representative of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people, to 3 years in prison for allegedly setting fire to the occupation administration of Pushkino village.
Aziz was charged with violation of Article 1167(2) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – “intentional destruction or damage to another’s property committed out of hooliganism, by arson, explosion or other generally dangerous means”. The occupation judge, a citizen of Ukraine, a traitor to the judicial oath, Igor Brazhnik, delivered an illegal sentence to Aziz Faizullayev. The decision states that the accused allegedly “fully admitted his guilt” and recanted his testimony.
In early June 2022, Aziz’s house was illegally searched, and the man himself was detained and taken to a pre-trial detention center. After that, the occupation media published a video in which Aziz allegedly “sincerely confesses that he made two Molotov cocktails and set fire to the building of the occupation Pushkin village council, having previously broken a window”.
The Mission condemns the illegal criminal prosecution by Russia of Aziz Faizullayev, a citizen of Ukraine, a representative of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.
Repressions and persecution of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea must stop immediately, which is impossible without the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula!
