The First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelial, illegally sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony, wrote an article about the illegal detention of 24-year-old Mamut Belyalov and his torture by the occupation forces.

“They put a garbage bag over my eyes, and painfully handcuffed my hands behind my back. They started threatening me. They told me that if I didn’t tell everything I knew, they would cut off my fingers or cut me with a dull knife. Or they would rape me and film everything on video and then post it on the Internet. After a while, they brought a device, took off my shoes and connected wires to my toes. They started torturing me with electric shocks. When I tried to get up from the chair in pain, I was hit several times in the back.”
