Main news of the week:
▶ Special forces of the GUR MO disabled the railway ferry “Slavyanin” — the last one in the Kerch Strait.
▶ On April 8, the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit oil depots in Feodosiia and Gvardiiske. They also struck an electronic intelligence station near Novoozerne and a positioning area of the “Bastion” missile system near Sofiivka.
▶ Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” (Zhovta Strichka) movement once again distributed pro-Ukrainian symbols on the peninsula, congratulated Ukrainians on Easter, and emphasized that they are waiting for the de-occupation of Crimea.
▶ Frank Peter Wilde, a German designer who actively supports Ukraine, became a mentor to Bohdan Ziza — a political prisoner whom the Russians sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment for alleged “terrorism” and “politically motivated vandalism.”
Invaders’ crimes:
▶ As of March 11, 2026, 286 individuals are subject to political persecution on the territory of occupied Crimea, 159 of whom are Crimean Tatars.
▶ As of April 8, 2026, 1,722 cases under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the RF regarding the so-called discrediting of the armed forces of the russian federation have been recorded in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea. In 1,591 cases, a fine was imposed or the case was combined with another proceeding under a different article with an aggregate decision. In 17 cases, the proceedings are still ongoing. Women account for 53% (843) of the rulings, while men account for 47% (746).
▶ The occupiers have increased pressure on political prisoner Ivan Yatskin: he was transferred to a “special unit for dangerous prisoners,” despite health problems, specifically trophic ulcers on his legs. The Russians detained Yatskin in 2019, accused him of alleged “treason,” and sentenced him to 11 years of imprisonment. He is currently held in penal colony No. 5 in the Russian city of Kemerovo.
▶ The occupation “court” in Sochi upheld the sentence of Niyara Ersmambetova. Previously, she was accused and sentenced to 15 years for alleged cooperation with the “ATESH” partisan movement and “transferring information about fuel composition and the positions of Russian air defense systems.”
▶ The health of political prisoner Volodymyr Ananiev has deteriorated. Specifically, the man is developing glaucoma; he has lost weight and requires a medical examination. Despite this, he is not provided with proper assistance. The man was detained in February 2024 and accused of an alleged “attempt” on the so-called head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov.
Forcible conscription:
▶ At least 3,019 russian servicemen from units stationed in Crimea have died. 1,553 of them were likely Ukrainian citizens.
▶ At least 125 russian soldiers from Crimea have been confirmed as captured. Most are likely citizens of Ukraine.
Propaganda of the occupation administrations and incitement to hostility:
▶ Russians continue to militarize the youth in Crimea. Thus, in Simferopol, the occupiers held the 5th tour of the “Intellect-Crimean Drone League,” in which 24 students from 8 schools participated. Participants competed in speed, accuracy, and skills in operating unmanned aerial vehicles.
▶ Additionally, the “Red Carnation” action began on the peninsula, the purpose of which is to sell badges depicting the flower for an arbitrary amount, with the collected funds intended to help WWII veterans as well as participants of the so-called SVO.
📌The Mission continues to receive inquiries from Ukrainian citizens who want to leave Crimea because they cannot tolerate the occupation and total propaganda. We remind you of our instructions on how to leave temporarily occupied Crimea: https://cutt.ly/FwtiajlS
