On 17 August 2018 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC held a working meeting to agree the further activities on practical implementation of the restrictive measures (sanctions) applied against individuals and entities, particularly blocking of their assets in the territory of Ukraine. Due regard was given to blocking the attempts of stakeholders , of violation and disregarding of the sanctions, adopted by the decision of the national Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the relevant decrees of the President of Ukraine.

The meeting has brought together the representatives of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in ARC, the Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region, Azov-Black Sea Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the State Enterprise Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine and others institutions.

The participants discussed the ways of realization of the joint decisions, undertaken by the governmental authorities regarding the improvement of the mechanism of the sanctions implementation. A special attention was paid to the situation with the vessel flying the RF Flag “Mekhanik Pogodin” which constituted property of the company of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with the Law of Ukraine “About Sanctions” the above-mentioned company is included into sanction’s list for the next three years by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, adopted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 14 May 2018 № 126/2018.

The discussion focused on the ways of responding to the behavior of the captain who prevented the access of the authorized representatives in the field of ecology and security of navigation to the board of the vessel, particularly on the ways how to combat the possible provocations by the authorities of the state-aggressor.
