During the visit a meeting was held with Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Serhiy Kozyr, Head of the Kherson Regional Council Oleksandr Samoilenko.
The ambassadors visited the checkpoint Kalanchak on the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Administrative Services Center in Kherson and held a traditional meeting with Crimeans, internally displaced persons from Crimea and representatives of Crimean Tatar people.
In addition, on the initiative of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and with the participation of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and the Rights of Residents of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol Iryna Veryhina; Head of the Sector of the Ministry for the Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons in Kherson region Denys Chystikov; non-governmental organizations CrimeaSOS and Regional Center for Human Rights – at the checkpoint “Kalanchak” was placed an information stand with contacts of relevant state and law enforcement agencies, human rights organizations to which the residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea can contact if necessary. It is important that such contact information is placed directly at the checkpoint.
The Mission is grateful to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Ukraine Mr. Tomaž Mencin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia to Ukraine Ms. Anica Djamić and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Ukraine Mr. Matti Maasikas for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and their attention to Ukrainian citizens temporarily residing in conditions of the occupation.
The Mission also is grateful to the Kherson Regional State Administration, Kherson Border Detachment for its work and assistance in organizing the visit, and all those who join and help on the way of deoccupation and reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
