In May, 8 2018 the officials of the Mission of the President of Ukraine took part in the press-conference on theme: “Analysis of Human Rights violations in the occupied Crimea for the period of the first quarter of 2018” The participants of the meeting were Eskender Bariev – a member of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People and a Head of Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Elvir Sagirman – communicative manager of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, civil organizations and Human Rights defenders.
During the conference it was presented the assessment of the illegal activity of the occupying authorities (searches, detentions, interrogations, arrests etc), the violations of fundamental freedoms (violations to the right to fair trail and appropriate legal assistance, peaceful meetings, attainable level of physical and mental health and so on). For the the first quarter of 2018 Eskender Bariev pointed out the statistics data: 18 searches (12 – Crimean Tatar’s housing), 28 – detentions (14 Crimean Tatars), 39 arrests (28 of Crimean Tatars), 40 interrogations (29 Crimean Tatars were interrogated), 14 penalties (9 Crimean Tatars were penalized), 2 facts of rights violations for peaceful meetings.
The speakers said that the violations of Human Rights by the occupying authorities and the RF punitive bodies in the peninsular were systemic in nature in the guise of anti-extremism and had a strong tendency to increase concerning the Crimean Tatars as an Indigenous People. As the result of the meeting the participants stressed on the necessity to the constant strengthening pressure of Ukraine and International representatives on Kremlin
