On March 13, 2018 the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative in ARC Izet Hdanov and the officials of the Mission took part in the annual meeting of the Mejlis leadership with heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by the Head and members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the representatives of the Constitutional Commission of Ukraine, the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, People’s Deputies, the representatives of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Prosecutor of the ARC, the First Deputy Minister of TOT and IDPs of Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Head of the UN Monitoring Mission for human rights, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia, of Canada, of Czech Republic, of Japan, of Norway, of Sweden, of Turkey and other foreign states` representatives, relevant persons of central state bodies and non-governmental organizations.

The creation of independent international Human Rights protection mechanism aimed to ensure the constitutional rights of citizens and restoration of sovereignty on the Crimean peninsula was the core issue for discussion. The amendments to Chapter X of the Constitution of Ukraine about the national Autonomy of Crimean Tatar People within independent Ukraine were pointed out by the Head of Medjlis of Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov. Mustafa Dzhemilev highlighted the numerous Human Rights violations in the TOT of Crimea and called upon the international community to strengthen sanctions and join efforts in common struggle against the aggressor.
The attendants of the meeting exchanged views on the issue of restoration of sovereignty in the TOT of Crimea and protection of Crimea Tatar People`s rights as well as rights of all inhabitants of Crimea.
