On 22 July 2019 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych held a working meeting with the Archbishop of the Crimean Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Klyment.
During the meeting, Anton Korynevych and Archbishop Klyment discussed the situation of the only Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea Klyment told about the demands of the Crimean occupying authorities to vacate the Cathedral of Olga and Volodymyr in Simferopol for the termination of the lease agreement with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate that had joined to the newly created Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Archbishop Klyment has drawn attention to the fact that before the occupation of Crimea there were 49 churches locations including 25 acting churches and near 20 priests throughout the peninsula. In contrast, there are only 9 such locations and 4 priests have left today
