Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine hosted a solemn ceremony of raising the Crimean Tatar flag with the participation of Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev and the chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov.
“Today we have a double holiday – the Day of the Crimean Tatar National Flag and the thirtieth anniversary of the revival of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar People, which has become an inspiring symbol of the strength of our national spirit and our unity! Our example of stability and fight for the restoration of historical justice inspires millions of people around the world!”, – First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova said.
Tamila Tasheva in her speech emphasized that the Crimean Tatar flag is first and foremost a symbol of the people’s resistance to pressure, repression, persecution and condemnation by the occupying authorities at a time when the Motherland of Crimean Tatars is temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
