During the National Security and Defense Council meeting, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko noted that information was received about the environmental catastrophe that took place in the occupied Crimean territory in the city of Armyansk and Ukrainian ecologists report disturbing data. Petro Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine should take several steps to eliminate the situation. “It is necessary to create an international commission and stop the ecological catastrophe, which directly affects Ukraine and takes place in the occupied territory, find its reasons,” the Head of State emphasized.

The President of Ukraine informed that, according to his information, the ecological disaster in Crimea was caused by the training of Russian soldiers, which led to the destruction of environmental protective mechanisms. The Head of the State asked the Prime Minister of Ukraine to prepare conditions to invite the children from Armyansk to Kherson region, so that they can have a rest and recreate. We must simply rescue the Ukrainian children because of the environmental attack.

The President of Ukraine instructed the regional administrations to organize an appropriate invitation, and to border guards – to provide a simplified crossing for children. “Everyone in the occupied territory should feel the care giving attitude of the Ukrainian state, no matter whether it is the occupied territory of the Ukrainian Crimea or the occupied territory of the Ukrainian Donbas”, the Head of State emphasized.
