In June, 2 2018 the officials of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the ARC participated in the protests in support of the Kremlin prisoner Oleg Sentsov taken place in Kyiv and Kherson. The participants of the events were the relatives and friends of the detainees – citizens of Ukraine in Crimea and Russia, the members of non-governmental organizations and concerned patriots.

In Kyiv it was held a meeting in Maidan Nezalezhnosti  “Show the Red Card to the Putin`s Regime” in support of the Ukrainian political detainees. The civil activists called by name the political detainees, illegally imprisoned in Russia and in the occupied Crimea. Among them were the artists, Crimean Tatars, journalists, Human Rights defenders, students. The concerned people all over the world support Oleg Sentsov and start the global protest SaveOlegSentsov.

At the protest SaveOlegSentsov, held in Kherson at the Svoboda Square, everybody could express his/her own attitude condemning the activity of the Russian authorities and punishment bodies concerning the citizens of Ukraine. There were calls to free not only Oleg Sentsov but others illegally detained. In her speech the chief consultant chief consultant of the ARC Re-integration and De-occupation Department of the Mission Tatyana Pokydko one more time condemned the ill – treatment of the citizens of Ukraine in Crimea and illegally – detained ones. It was highlighted the current activity of the Mission on issues of support and release of the prisoners of the Russian autocratic regime, on help to their families in the mainland Ukraine

The Mission jointed the rest of the world calls for the immediate release of Oleg Sentsov and all the other detained citizens of Ukraine and continues the systemic aid to the detainers’ families and will facilitate the release of the Kremlin prisoners. At the same time the Russian authorities’ attempts to extort Ukraine by exerting pressure on detainees will not lead to solutions in Crimean issue – no to export of goods and water supply from the Northern Crimean channel to Crimea, no to the urgent activity of the Ukrainian law enforcement militaries to counteract the terrorists, collaborators and saboteurs and in other spheres.
