In July 1, 2018 the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were held in the coastal cities of Ukraine. In Odessa under the chairmanship of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak with the participation of the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Ihor Voronchenko involving the representatives of the chairmanship of Military Forces and State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC, the authorities of Odessa local and regional State governmental bodies, veterans, volunteers and public the ceremonial including of four small armored artillery boats to the Naval Forces was held. In his speech the Ministry of Defense emphasized that establishment and development of Ukrainian Naval Forces was done under the rigid counteraction to the actions of the state-aggressor. It was recognized that under the difficult circumstances the Naval Commanders and Commanders of Marine Corps are gaining the possibilities to control the situation as in the sea so on the coast. Special emphasis was given to the South Naval and Military base started reforming and launched its activity in the Azov Sea direction. In the framework of celebrations the Permanent Representative Borys Babin congratulated the Commanders of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and servicemen awarded with the distinctions and awards.
