Today, on 3 March the Russian security forces detained the archbishop of Simferopol and Crimean of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Klyment in the bus station in Simferopol in the temporarily occupied Crime. He was going to go to the Russian Rostov-na-Donu to be present in the trial in the case of political prisoner Pavlo Gryb. He explained that he had allegedly stolen the things in his bags from the church
According to the journalist Anton Naumlyuk, Klyment was brought to the so-called “central district policy department” of Simferopol where he was interrogated in the presence of the lawyer Emil Kurbedinov but they refused to release him by referring to the need to get protocols from the so-called “PPS”. Then, the so-called “Deputy Chief of Police” of Simferopol Sergiy Nikitin came to the “department” who refused to release Klyment despite his explanations.
It became later known that the archbishop Klyment was taken away from the “central district policy department” of Simferopol to “Kyiv district department”. Due to the lawyer Nikolay Polozov, they were going to charge him with disorderly conduct for he had allegedly “directed profanities” at the Simferopol market place.
After 8 p.m. the lawyer Nikolay Polozov informed that archbishop od Crimean eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine had been realized without issuing a protocol.
