On 19 September 2018 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin reported on the situation with freedom of speech and the media in the temporarily occupied Crimea at the meeting of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Freedom of Speech and Informatization Policy.
The need to counteract the Russian TV and radio broadcasting spread from Crimea to the territories of Kherson region. As the result of report the People Deputies supported the coherent tasks of the Plan of Urgent Measures on Counteraction of Russia’s Aggression from the TOT of Ukraine in Crimea, on Protection of the Interests of State, of Citizens of Ukraine and of Ukrainian Legal Persons in Crimea for 2018–2019.
At the same day Borys Babin reported on the acts of the punishment bodies of the Russian occupying authorities in the temporarily occupied Crimea and on the work of the Ukrainian legal enforcement bodies for AR Crimea and Sevastopol at the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement.
A special attention was drawn to the dislocation of the legal enforcement bodies to the territory, adjacent to the temporarily occupied Crimea and to the location of the additional National Guard of Ukraine attachments there. The discussion concerned the need of national criminal legislation of Ukraine to be amended by the rules of ICJ Rome Statue. In particular, the legislative aspects against the visiting of Crimea by the individuals who had access to the State secrets were discussed. The report was discussed by involving the authorities of law enforcement bodies. The Committee supported the task of the relevant tasks of the Plan of Urgent Measures, implemented by the Mission.
