On October 5th, 2016 in the city of Kherson the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Nataliia Popovych met with the Deputy Chief of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in Kherson region Dmytro Ivanov.
At the time of this meeting, the parties discussed the initiatives provided by the adopted Law of Ukraine “On amendments to the legislative acts of Ukraine, concerning the documents certifying the citizenship of Ukraine, identity or a person’s special status, aimed at liberalization from visa regime for Ukraine by the EU”.
In particular, they paid attention to the changes that allow implementation of the next stage of reform of implementation of passport of the citizen of Ukraine of a new format contained contactless electronic media. First of all, it was about the possibility of execution of ID-cards to the residents of temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
Also during the meeting, the parties discussed the specific migration issues that have to be solved for a proper enforcement of rights and freedoms of the citizens of Ukraine residing in the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimean Peninsula or moved to the mainland Ukraine.
