On 19 December 2019 Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro – Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR Crimea Anton Korynevych and the Chairman of Kherson State Regional Administration Yuriy Gusev opened a service zone at the checkpoint “Kalanchak”, located on the administrative boundary line between the Kherson region and temporarily occupied Crimea
The Vice Prime Minister stressed that the checkpoint including the service zone were temporal until the peninsula would be de-occupied and their functions would no longer be required.
The initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was implemented by the Kherson State Regional Administration, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and “Ukrainian Railways” in record time for few months. The Mission 0f the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea assisted with the establishment of the administrative service center at the checkpoint.
European standards are respect for human being. Such atmosphere is precisely at the “Kalanchak” checkpoint. There is Europe here. One day it will be there too. Along with Ukraine.

“Kalanchak” service zone includes:
Auto station for routes to Kherson, Odessa, Zaporozhe, Dnipro, Kyiv, Nova Kahovka, 5-10 runs per day.
Seating areas for passengers and drivers;
Administrative service center to provide primary legal assistance, consultation and service center “Passport”;
Shop, cafeteria;
The service zone capacity is a thousand people per day.
The service zone is owned by the Myrnynska joint territorial community. The Kherson State Regional Administration performed a construction work with a total cost of UAN 60 mln hrn. The service zones’ construction at the checkpoints “Kalanchak” and “ Chongar” is undertaken by the joint stock company “Ukrzaliznytsya” (funding of UAN 105 mln 893, 6 thousands is provided in line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 04 July 2018).
At the Customs Controlled Area, customs officers issue a permit for the baggage of the citizens as well as there are passport control booths, equipped with the permit system for exit from the mainland Ukraine.
The administrative service center, opened at the checkpoint “Kalanchak” is a remote workplace of the administrative service center, situated at the Chaplynka territorial community. It provides 37 services for citizens from the temporarily occupied territory AR of Crimea as well as it covers the adjacent localities of Kalanchtsky district under the agreement of intermunicipal cooperation of Myrnynska and Chaplynska territorial communities.
