On October 23 in accordance with the task 13.8 of the Plan of Urgent Measures on Counteraction of Russia’s Aggression from the TOT of Ukraine in Crimea, Protection of the Interests of the State, Citizens of Ukraine and Ukrainian Legal Persons in Crimea for the period of 2018-2019, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin held a meeting on issues concerning the responding to the negative impact of the occupying authorities on the condition of cultural and historic heritage in Crimea.
The participants of the meeting were the representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, MFA of Ukraine, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of SSU in ARC and National Police of Ukraine, representatives of higher educational establishments.
The participants of the meeting considered the issues of counteraction to the destruction of the monuments of cultural and historic heritage in the occupied Crimea, including archeological investigations and export of cultural property from Crimea to Russian Federation. The members of the meeting discussed the measures for the direct monitoring of the situation in ARC and Sevastopol to be carried out by the Commission of UNESCO. The discussion have also included the sanction list to be added by individuals and entities, engaged in illegal archeological investigations and export of cultural property from TOT of Ukraine in Crimea.
As the result, a number of practical decisions have been taken to provide further activity.
