In May, 5 2018 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin held a working meeting on exercising the educational rights of the citizens of Ukraine, residing in the temporarily occupied territory in the high schools located in Odesa region. The participants of the meeting were the heads of the educational centers “Crimea-Ukraine”, the officials of the Departments of Education and Science of Odesa Oblast State Administration and Odesa City Council.
During the meeting it was evaluated the entrance the High Schools campaign in 2017 and run–up to the entrance campaign of 2018, it was discussed the challenges and responses in exercising the rights of the Crimean residents to education in the higher educational establishments of Odesa region according to a quota system of 2018 as well as the organization of distance and external education for the citizens of Ukraine from Crimea. The participants of the meeting established the recommendations to improve the activity and cooperation among the higher educational establishments and the local executive bodies during the entrance campaign this year.
The Permanent Representative Borys Babin focused attention to the pressed issues on implementation of the Crimean IDPs’ rights to education, particularly their enrollment in tertiary education and pointed out the necessity to improve the promotional entrance the high education campaign for Odesa region for the Crimean residents.
