On 15 March 2019 the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in AR of Crimea held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine Martin Hagström. During the meeting, Izet Gdanov told the head of the foreign diplomatic mission about the activity of the Mission aimed at the exercising of the constitutional rights of the citizens of Ukraine, residing in the temporarily occupied Crimea and IDPs.
The attention was paid to grounds and facts of the violation of the Ukrainian legislation by the foreigners when visiting the temporarily occupied Crimea as well as failure to respect the international sanction regime of the occupied peninsula by the foreign legal persons. Furthermore, the Sweden side was informed on legal enforceable mechanism to cross the administrative boundary line with Crimea by the foreigners in order to resolve the humanitarian issues.
A constructive discussion of the possibility to strengthen the international sanction pressure on the state – aggressor followed, particularly in the economic sphere, as well as providing the international technical assistance to Ukraine by Sweden and support of the Ukrainian mass media with the Crimean content significantly.
In addition, they discussed the role of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People in de-occupation of the peninsula, protection of the rights and freedoms of the citizens and support, provided to the population in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The sides agreed to further mutual interaction and cooperation in resolving the issues related to the Crimean peninsula.
