On 17 July 2019 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych met with the Consul General of the Hellenic Republic in Odesa Alexious Marios Liberopulus under his two-day visit to Kherson.
Welcoming the delegation, Anton Korynevych commended Greece for its consistent support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and expressed his gratitude for understanding of the Greek side in overcoming the consequences of the Russian aggression and interaction at the international level.
The interlocutors focused on the situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea, particularly on the issues of great concern, requiring support from the international community.
The Permanent Representative emphasized the framework for the activity of the Mission in collaboration with all state and civic authorities which is aimed at the promotion of full realization of the Crimeans’ rights and improving their living conditions in the mainland of Ukraine, including an adequate response to the actions of the occupying authorities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Also in the context of the recent visit of the Head of the State to the checkpoint “Chongar”, the usefulness and importance of improving the conditions for crossing the administrative boundary line was discussed as priority concern of humanitarian nature. In particular such conveniences include the establishment of the pedestrian zone, sheds, lighting, water supply, sanitary and health – care units, rest rooms.
Concluding, the sides showed their mutual respect and expressed readiness for cooperating in future.
