The Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Natalia Popovich held a meeting with a leader of observers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe of special monitoring mission in Ukraine, Peter Chilvers on the 14th day of November, 2016 in the city of Kherson.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a situation connected with violations of the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens at the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and considered a number of issues in the socio-economic and socio-political spheres.
In particular, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea emphasized the importance of a draft of resolution “Situation in the field of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” that is subject to voting at the General Assembly of the United Nations and that is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International Agreements of Human Rights and other relevant international documents and declarations.
Also, the parties discussed the implementation of state policy aimed at supporting of people who are moving from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol to the mainland territory of Ukraine.
During the meeting, Natalia Popovich acquainted Peter Chilvers with the activities of the Services of the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
