In April, 18 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin, the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative Izet Gdanov and the officials of the Departments of the International Connections and Legal Analysis of the Mission met with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova and the officials of the Comissioner`s Secretariat.
A great range of humanitarian, educational, electoral, social, economic issues as well as administartive services providing for IDPs from Crimea was discussed.Borys Babin told about the current activity done by the Mission in issuing the passports to the citizens of Ukraine from Crimea, establishment and equipment of administrative services centers in the adjacent districts to Crimea, the establishment of the railway link to the station “Vadim” and legalization automobile transportation to/from the check points.
The First Deputy Izet Gdanov pointed out the issues unresolved be the valid legislation, particularly obtaining the passports by the Crimean detainers imprisoned in the mainland of Ukraine, crossing and equipment of the check points, housing and medical support of IDPs from Crimea. A special attention was paid to the releasing of the political detainers and the activity of the law enforcement bodies of Ukraine.
The working meeting identified the layout of the future collaboration between the Mission and the Ukrainian Ombudsman.
