On 26 November 2018 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin held a meeting on military registration of Crimeans to be carried out by the military commissariats in the area under the control of Ukraine. Particularly the registration of conscripts and persons liable for military duty from among the IDPs and citizens of Ukraine, residing in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The participants of the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Mykola Shambir, the head of the Department on protection of emergency victims of the Ministry of social policy of Ukraine Lubov Cherskaya, the Head of the Department on military registration of General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine Olexandr Pravdyvets
The mechanisms for providing the military commissariats with the additional information were discussed to carry out the efficient military registration of IDPs and the citizens, coming from Crimea and to improve the working collaboration between the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and authorized structural departments.
As the result, the parties have agreed the framework for further cooperation. Among the other issues, the need for the citizens of Ukraine, coming from Crimea to be registered for military service in the territory under the control regardless the registration as IDPs was emphasized. The citizens of Ukraine, residing in Crimea can register for military service in any commissariat by the place where they are actually staying, including their temporary residence.
