In June 2018 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin visited Ankara where together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Comissioned of the President of Ukraine for Crimean Tatars People Mustafa Dzemilev participated in Iftar (evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast).
During his speech Pavlo Klimkin pointed out that Ukraine is a multinational state and Muslims are an integral part of it. In return the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey highlighted the strategic partnership among Ukraine and Turkey and stressed on the immutability position of the Republic of Turkey concerning the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine as well as he assured he will raise a Crimean issue in all international platforms.
