All relevant authorities, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, relevant scientific and educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and experts, including those located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, took an active part in the development of the Concept.
Currently, the state of the Crimean Tatar language is critical, according to UNESCO and Ukrainian scientists. – Russia’s temporary occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol has exacerbated these problems, which is reflected in UN resolutions and beyond.
“The concept is the basis for the next 10 years of work on the development of the Crimean Tatar language, which is currently in a critical state. This is the first step towards creating a Strategy for the development of the Crimean Tatar language for 2022-2032”, – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov stressed.
“The Crimean Tatar language is universal in its structure and allows us to understand all Turkic languages. Crimean Tatar makes it possible to speak to our partners in one language and develop relations with Ankara, Baku and Nur-Sultan, creating economic, cultural and security projects. It is a completely different dynamic of contacts and a different level of mutual trust”, Oleksiy Reznikov asserted.
- The idea is being consolidated of developing the Crimean Tatar language based on the Latin script – this is a strategic decision, which since 1991has been relevant for the Crimean Tatars, and will unite the Crimean Tatar diasporas worldwide around the agenda put forward by Ukraine.
- Opportunities will be created for everyone to learn the language.
- Developing the language is maintaining a live connection with Crimea.
