Main News of the Week:
▶ During the reconstruction of the embankment in temporarily occupied Yevpatoriia, Russians stole 172 million rubles (approximately 52 million hryvnias). Instead of 140,000 tonnes of special pebbles for the beach area, the contractor brought ordinary crushed stone and gravel suitable only for construction work.
▶ Dmytro Lubinets stated that the Russian authorities have created a network of so-called camps in Crimea, using them as intermediate filtration centres for Ukrainian children — for ideological indoctrination, selection, and subsequent deportation or forced “re-education” in Russian families.
Invaders’ Crimes:
▶ As of 9 February, the occupiers have illegally imprisoned 224 individuals, 133 of whom are Crimean Tatars.
▶ As of 9 February 2026, 1,672 cases involving materials drawn up under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation were recorded as having been submitted to so-called courts in temporarily occupied Crimea and other “competent authorities”.
In 1,542 cases, decisions were issued imposing administrative fines or merging the cases with other proceedings to issue a combined ruling. In 17 cases, material consideration is ongoing. By gender, 816 (53%) decisions were issued against women, and 724 (47%) against men.
▶ The wife of Server Mustafayev reported that the Crimean Tatar human rights defender and journalist has been in a strict detention unit at Penal Colony No. 1 in Tambov for two years and has no prospects of transfer to the general unit. According to her, he was placed in the unit back in February 2024, and the institution’s administration explained this not by his behaviour, but by the “severity of the article” of the accusation.
▶ Relatives of Crimean political prisoner and citizen journalist Iryna Danylovych reported that the 46-year-old woman, who has been illegally held for nearly four years in Colony No. 7 in the city of Zelenokumsk in the Stavropol Krai of the Russian Federation, has partially lost her hearing due to untreated otitis, for which she was denied medical assistance for a long time. According to them, Iryna has completely lost hearing in her left ear and regularly complains of noise and ringing in her head and ears, yet despite repeated appeals, she does not receive qualified medical assistance or necessary medicines.
Forcible conscription:
▶ At least 2,680 servicemen of the Russian Federation from units stationed in temporarily occupied Crimea have been killed. 1,428 of them are likely Ukrainian citizens.
▶ The capture of at least 125 Russian military personnel from temporarily occupied Crimea has been confirmed. The majority are likely Ukrainian citizens.
Militarisation of the Crimean Peninsula:
▶ Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement reported an intensification of the propaganda campaign by the Russian occupying authorities, aimed at recruiting residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into the Russian army. According to them, relevant agitation materials appear en masse in various cities, particularly in Crimea.
Propaganda of the occupying administrations and incitement to hostility:
▶ A propaganda media resource published material on the activities of the so-called Artek International Children’s Centre, presenting it as a tool for forming youth loyal to the Russian Federation and an element of “soft power”. The publication emphasizes that from 2026, the key content of shifts at “Artek” will be “patriotism”, with an “increased emphasis on cultivating respect for the history of Russia”, “spiritual values”, and “culture as the basis of national identity”.
