On 23 October it was announced that Oleg Sentsov, arrested by Russia due to trumped-up charge in the occupied Crimea was awarded with the prize «Pro Dignitate Humana» («For human dignity») of Poland Ministry Foreign Affairs. The laureates of this prize are individuals who show their intransigent position in Human Rights protection and respect the people’s dignity. Oleg Sentsov was awarded for his consistent and dedicated activity in protection of the rights of people being persecuted by the Russian aggressor in the territory of the peninsula.
The Mission welcomes the decision of the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Poland and condemns the Government of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine for the support of Ukrainian political detainees in Russia, attention to the struggle of Ukraine with the aggressor and for the consistent position in non-recognition of the attempt of the Crimea annexation. The authority of the Mission in collaboration with the authorized bodies and polish diplomats support the relatives of Oleg Sentsov to provide organizational events to get the above-mentioned award in Warsaw.
