On 5 June, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Ukraine, Mr. Mustafa Levent Bilgen, paid a courtesy visit to the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The Permanent Representative, Olha Kuryshko, expressed gratitude to Türkiye for its support of Ukraine and its unwavering position on the territorial integrity of our state. The meeting was also attended by Denys Chystikov, Deputy Permanent Representative, and colleagues from the Crimea Platform Support Service.
Ambassador of Türkiye Mustafa Bilgen reaffirmed his country’s consistent stance in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that Türkiye condemned the Russian occupation of the Crimean Peninsula as early as 2014. Mr. Ambassador also underscored that Türkiye is ready to support Ukraine in various formats and remains an active participating state in the International Crimea Platform.
Olha Kuryshko presented the current areas of work of the Mission. She also addressed the topic of transitional justice and Russia’s crimes in the occupied Crimea, in particular the destruction of cultural heritage and pressure on representatives of the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine. Special attention during the meeting was given to the issue of environmental security in the Black Sea region, especially in the context of the December 2024 accident involving two Russian tankers in the Kerch Strait, which resulted in a massive fuel oil spill and caused significant damage to the marine environment.
We express gratitude to Türkiye for its consistent support of Ukraine!
