Yesterday, on June 20, Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva and Head of the Crimea Platform Support Service Maria Tomak met with the team of the advocacy organization Razom Advocacy, namely Co-founder and Vice President for Advocacy Maria Soroka, Advocacy Associate Lauren Guillaume, and program assistants Kira Chernenko and Daryna Lesniak.

The meeting aimed to discuss potential cooperation and strengthen advocacy on Crimea and other occupied territories in the international arena, particularly in the United States of America.
Tamila Tasheva highlighted that the Mission is already engaged in advocacy activities on international platforms through events and initiatives based on the Office of the Crimea Platform and in cooperation with NGOs. However, she emphasized the need to strengthen these efforts and continue to counter the Russian imperial narratives actively promoted by Russia in other countries.

During the meeting, the Mission’s team also discussed possible tools for strengthening cooperation in the education sector.
The Razom Advocacy team shared their experience and ideas from their advocacy campaigns abroad. In particular, they emphasized their support for the initiatives already undertaken, including this year’s events marking the 80th anniversary of the deportation.

The teams from the Mission and Razom Advocacy discussed further communication and the strengthening of cooperation on advocacy concerning Crimea.
